Learning to paddle
If you are new to paddling, we offer taster sessions to give you a feel for the sport and the club. We can offer up to 3 sessions, which are grouped together. These are usually during the summer months at Lochore Meadows, on Tuesday evenings (now fully booked). If you are interested, please get in touch via the contact form.
We don’t usually recommend teaching for children under the age of 10. Equipment is not suitably sized for smaller children, and our pool sessions often do not finish until 10pm.
Some level of fitness is needed. Learning to paddle does involve lots of capsizing and swimming, so it can be strenuous. One of the basic skills is the ability to get back into a kayak, from the water, after a capsize, and this requires some degree of agility. A willingness to get wet is essential. Please discuss it with us if in doubt.
